Margret Overdijk is the director of the CCAF foundation in the Netherlands, this foundation certifies ACT teams and Flexible ACT teams. She is also working as a consultant and interim manager in mental and public health care. She started working as a psychiatric nurse in 1982. In 1995 she started working as a manager. She graduated for the Bachelor in Business Administration in Health at the Hogeschool Utrecht in 1997. She graduated for the executive MBA (Master Business Administration) at Nyenrode Business Universiteit in 2011.
In 2002 she started the project “Aggression coach” on the forensic psychiatric ward in Altrecht GGZ. The goal of the project was to decrease the number of aggressive incidents and the number of seclusions on the ward and at the same time to increase the safety for both inpatients and staff on the ward. From that time on her field of interest is violence and safety for in- and out- patients with severe mental illnesses and the reduction of seclusion and coercion in mental health care.
Margret is experienced in setting up ACT and FACT teams and in transforming teams to FACT teams and Intensive Home Treatment Teams. Besides this she is experienced in developing and implementing strategic policies on assertive outreach and intensive home treatment.
